IMAGINEX Presents
The Night America Panicked

On October 30, 1938, Orson Welles and his Mercury Theater on the Air broadcast their radio presentation of HG Wells’s War of the Worlds to over six million people across the country. This particular broadcast differed from all their others – because many people believed that it WAS REAL – and that Martians were attacking our world and America was the first to be invaded!

Now, on the 85th anniversary of this historic event, IMAGINEX Productions presents The Night America Panicked.

This live multi-media performance will combine acting, sounds, lights, projections, and special effects to recreate the entire broadcast word for word, sound effect for sound effect, as well as tell the story of what happened before, during, and after this infamous broadcast that many have called the greatest hoax ever portrayed on American radio.

The Night America Panicked original artwork created by J. Robert Theobald, John Barrett, and Len Specht.
